John Vickers

John Vickers is the organizer of a number of area events in the Capital Region.

InJuly he is presenting the Victoria International Buskers Festival, presenting street performers from around the world at event locations across downtown.

Vickers may be best known as the artist and creator of Pumpkin Art, a display of intricately carved pumpkins which now attracts thousands of visitors annually. His unique art has been presented at the Royal Ontario Museum and in New York City. This fall, his works will be on display on the grounds of Oak Bay City Hall.

Seven years ago Vickers established the Victoria Masquerade Ball, billed as
“ Victoria’s Black Tie Event of the Year.” The Ball became a sell out event, attracting masquerading couples from as far away as California.

Due to other ventures such as the Buskers Festival, John has shifted his focus on this great event and in turn has passed the torch of the Victoria Ball to Victoria BC-SPCA.

Vickers hopes to raise $30,000.00 at this year’s Ball in support of the Victoria branch of the BC SPCA.
